Construction and materials
CannonBall, a brand renowned in the hardware industry, offers a range of robust and reliable products designed for various applications. Their expertise lies in hardware solutions that are both functional and durable, catering to the needs of gate, latch, and door closer systems.
The construction of CannonBall products typically emphasizes strength and longevity. While specific construction details vary across their product lines, a common theme is the use of heavy-duty materials designed to withstand frequent use and environmental exposure. This often includes:
- Steel: High-grade steel is frequently employed for its exceptional strength, rigidity, and resistance to wear and tear. This is particularly important for components that bear significant load or are subjected to repeated mechanical stress, such as gate hardware and door closer mechanisms.
- Cast Iron: In certain applications, cast iron may be utilized for its mass, durability, and ability to absorb shock. This material is often found in heavier-duty gate hardware where substantial weight and robust performance are paramount.
- Aluminum: For applications where weight reduction is a consideration without compromising strength, aluminum alloys might be incorporated. This is common in some latch mechanisms and lighter-duty gate components.
- Other Metals: Depending on the specific product and its intended environment, other corrosion-resistant metals like galvanized steel or stainless steel may be used to ensure longevity and prevent rust.
The materials are selected for their inherent properties that contribute to the overall performance and lifespan of the hardware. This focus on material quality ensures that CannonBall products can reliably perform their intended functions, whether it's smoothly operating a gate, securely latching a door, or providing controlled closing action.
CannonBall's product categories encompass essential hardware for secure and functional access points:
- Hinges: These are engineered to support the weight of gates and doors, allowing for smooth and stable movement. The construction often involves robust pivot points and durable mounting hardware.
- Gate Hardware: This broad category includes components vital for gate operation, such as hinges, latches, rollers, and track systems. The materials used are chosen to withstand outdoor elements and continuous operation.
- Latches: Designed for security and ease of use, CannonBall latches are built with strong engaging mechanisms to ensure doors and gates remain securely fastened.
- Door Closers: These devices are crucial for controlling the speed and force with which a door closes. They are typically constructed with internal hydraulic or pneumatic systems, housed within durable metal casings, to provide consistent and reliable closing action.
